5Rhythms Dance Tranceformation with Kari Luehmam

2nd Mondays, 6-8pm (Jan 9, Feb 13, March 12)

5Rhythms is a catalytic movement practice with no steps to follow – rather a guided invitation to pour all that is you into motion. This powerful, grounded movement meditation is a wild and wonderful medicine to free the body, open the heart and empty the mind. $15 – $20 (sliding scale)

Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness

These 5 rhythms in sequence form a Wave, the natural progression of both the dance and nature … from the movement of the seas to the course of a day. One wave is followed by another wave and then another, all similar in form, yet distinctly different. The same is true of our dance every time we offer it our body and our heart.

In this way the meditation of dancing becomes a spiritual practice, and regular practice over time cultivates deeper self-awareness and deeper connection to the whole.

We dance the 5Rhythms on the dance floor, and if we are truly studying the practice, we live the 5Rhythms in our lives. As founder Gabrielle Roth says …
