Kim Nixon offers a traditional Hatha Yoga class, integrating styles from a variety of yoga traditions. Class emphasis is on breath-linked movement, body alignment, creating body awareness, and learning to “listen to your body.” A typical class may incorporate meditation, pranayama (breath techniques), gentle movement, and both standing and seated postures.
Yin Yoga is a more meditative form of yoga. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive “stress” on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Great for all body types.
